At Taylor-Thomason Insurance Brokers / A.E Long Insurance, we pride ourselves on our involvement in the community. Our agencies are involved with many types of local and national organizations.
Owner, Tom Taylor, Jr., volunteers on Boards for the YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties, as well as MultiCare Health Foundation. He also takes photos for Kiwanis “Terrific Kids” elementary school program.
Our agency is a member of the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce and hosts a monthly luncheon each year. The luncheons are a great place to build relationships with other professionals and hear from knowledgeable guest speakers.
We are also a member of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber and have hosted the Tahoma Business Environmental Awards several times. It is always interesting to hear about the nominees and the steps they are taking to help their community and the environment.
Julie Ellis, our Commercial Lines Manager, was one of the 200+ participants who completed the Pediatric Interim Care Center’s 5K Walk for the Babies in Kent at the end of 2019. $27,000 was raised for the care of the babies in PICC’s Newborn Nursery.
Taylor-Thomason continually gives to ArtsFund, which is a central advocate for the arts locally and nationally. ArtsFund celebrated their 50th year in business in 2019 and are committed to helping develop the next generation of community and civic leaders.
We are also proud to support the Commencement Bay Rowing Club, which provides high quality rowing programs for youth and adults, no matter what skill level.
TTIB is also a sponsor of Friday Family Fun Movie Nights at Skansie Brothers Park in Gig Harbor. Fridays in July and August are perfect for a family movie and fun activities with Harbor WildWatch.
Our office regularly contributes to the Emergency Food Network in Lakewood whose mission is to “provide Pierce County with a consistent, diverse and nutritious food supply so that no person goes hungry”.
Why do we support the YMCA? For over 44 years we have supported and volunteered at our local YMCA because the Y’s goal of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities matches the strategic plan of Taylor-Thomason Insurance Brokers.
